Where the hell is the coffee?

In the kitchen. Must. Go. To. Kitchen.

Mmm. Yes. Ok. Life can continue.

I have virtuously started off the day with oatmeal containing chia seeds, flaxseed meal and only the hintiest nom of brown sugar. Later I will have a mega green smoothie. Go me. For now, goddamn right I'm having coffee.

Here is a trend you might notice. I drink coffee, a lot of coffee, when I'm on a writing tear. When it's going good. Real good. The past month of writing has gone awesome. I have 32 DAYS LEFT of the Nellie Bly Challenge. The novel is getting done at great speed. Well...at mostly great speed. I'm perpetually 20 pages behind where I want to be, but my ass is in the chair every day and pages are added.

It will be done by WisCon! There will be much celebration.

Elsewise, I got nothing doing. Lots of coffee. Lots of writing. Lots of library and bar work.

Lots of cool art too. Here, have some.

I'm such a weirdo when it comes to my schedule. I find it much easier to get writing done if I either

a) have a completely empty day
b) have finished whatever needed to be done and can sit down well into the evening.

So inevitably, when I have a day like today, where all morning and afternoon are free, but I have to go to the bar in a coupla hours, I get some work done, but half the time is spent fretting over getting to work or mucking about wasting time. As if I tell meself, "well, today is already shot cause I still have to go to work," which is bullshit...but it is so much easier to work in the morning and come home and have a free and clear evening...

That is to say, I am still writing today, but it is harder to get anything done.

I wish you luck with your mega reads!

I finished Janelle's! I finished Caitlyn's! Oh, yes! And I'm due to talk to Shawna in an hour!

I cannot get anything done, either, with things hanging over my head. Tonight we're going to visit some friends and play board games, and yet (well, I did go an mow my mom's lawn and then go to lunch with her and all the siblings and was subjected [at the radio] to pop-country [*shudder*] and then queued up the roots CD you sent me to cleanse my ear/brain/palate... thingie.) there will be no progress on anything (except showering once I have defeated the clog... oh domesticity).

Yeah, It's officially an hour before I leave for the bar and now I have to start getting ready and I accomplished a meager scant bit of writing and an hour nap. Not my best of days. Sigh.
